Q: how much would it cost to put carpet in a 67 chevelle?
a 300 deluxe modle. it pretty much has everything else. new headliner, new seats, dash.. just needs carpet. so any ideas on how much it would cost? nothing crazy expencive just plane jane black carpet. thanks guys

A: yearone.com, ausleyschevelle.com, ETC., there are a lot of aftermarket places out there for your chevelle that if you have a frame you car rebuild a complete chevelle, the carpet is under $200.

A: yep and by the time you’re done you’ll be an experienced body man,first you’ll need to learn to cut and weld metal panels then how to bondo and prep body work then how to paint

Q: Upgrading my 67 chevelle w/327 small block chevy?
i have a rebuilt 327 sm bl. 30 over. Rv cam. Edelbrock high flow intake. holley 750cfm. it purrs quite nicely but i think i could get a little more out of her but keep it reletivy at 10-15 mph. has a 2speed powerglide and i believe 3.80 rear end what would be a good setup. what is sad is i cant even get it to burnout and it already a 275hp. how can i fix that.

A: Put a 4:11 rear in it,that thing will be a rocket,also the power Glide 2 is a very good tranny,if you put a shift kit in it.A lot of people don’t like the 2 speed power glide but with a kit it’s un real.

A: The Chevelle, all day long.

And keep in mind you’re leaving off some very valuable info… like which trim the GTO is (it ranged from a 389 Tri-Power to a 400 ci slug, so whichever engine you choose made a huge difference) and whether or not the Chevelle SS had the 454.

And I sure hope the vehicles you found were in rough shape… because any collector/restorer will shoot you onsite for modding one that’s in decent shape. If you choose to do this to one that is actually worth some cash, you will REDUCE the value of the car tremendously.

(And yes, to those who actually know the cars… I realize that NOBODY would be stupid enough to mod a Chevelle SS with a 454. That car would bring top dollar at any auction.)

Q: what year do you think is better 67,69,or a 70 chevelle?

A: 1970 has the L34, LS5, and LS6s, which is a plus, but I’m not too sure on the generic body style. 1969 has nice body lines and great style when restored, but some might call them “grandma” cars because of their taillights and front grille. 1967 is when the Chevelles really started to sell with the second year of the 396 and four-speed, but they were bigger muscle cars and seemed too “boxey” at times. If I had a choice, it would definitley be a 1969 with the 375 horse 396 and a four speed.

Q: How much should I offer for an old rusty chevelle?
I’ve seen this chevelle just rusting on the side of the road for a long time. It looks pretty beat up and I’m pretty sure the owner doesn’t use/want it. I’m not sure of the year-maybe 67. It’s orange with gray spots all over it and looks like it would need a lot of fixing up (which i don’t mind). If i make an offer, how much should it be? How much is the car worth?

A: the 70 chevelle with the big block.is the last and only year chevy came out with cubic inch and horse power the same.so if the engine is a 454ci, big block it also has 454 horse power,and the rear suspension is factory four link only year chevy did this in the chevelle.SS.so look for a 1970 CHEVELLE 454SS.One of the fastest factory hot rods produced..

im really wanting to do a 67-72 chevelle restoration project. what are the average prices involved with a basic frame off restoration?

A: My dad did a 65 back in 2002 and he started with a nice cruse car and made it a show winner for a little over $20,000. Did all the work in house except top and windshield. A lot of trophies.

Q: What is the difference b/w a malibu and a chevelle?

A: The car was a Chevy Chevelle, and the Malibu was basically the top-of-the-line trim level.

To the guy who says Malibus are only 4 door, “Malibus were generally available in a full-range of bodystyles including a four-door sedan, two-door Sport Coupe hardtop, convertible and two-seat station wagon.”

The Malibu SS was only available as a coupe or convertible.
