Q: what to look for when buying a used honda civic?
Going to head out and grab myself a civic.
What should a be aware of mechanically speaking? anything to avoid? looking for 90’s Honda.
A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com
Q: What year used honda civic is best?
I am looking for a good, cheap first car, which is pretty much the civic.
What year is best, considering cost, performance, and looks. It must be below $4,000. Any ideas?
Thanks
A: i would get a 1992-1995 model because cheap and easy to work on. i got mine for 800 dollars in decent shape from my local classifieds. it had some minor problems and 190000 miles but now it runs great and i drive it every day mines also stock and averages 34 miles per gallon. my insurance is very reasonable for a 18 yr old with 2 wrecks and a ticket. but basically any civic is a good car for anyone i don’t care what people say. ps try to get a ex or si they have the v-tec engine for a little more power.
Q: is it better to buy and older more used honda civic si? like a 00 or to try and get a newer civic ex?
a civic ex and maybe put some parts in it? any help please? thanks?
A: It all depends on what kind of value proposition you’re talking about. Are you comparing a ‘00 with 50,000 miles for $4,000 to an ‘05 with 50,000 miles for $5,000? It’s just impossible to say without knowing the kind of details that make the whole difference meaningful.
In general, newer vehicles are going to include more recent technologies and safety engineering while also being less subjected to certain types of wear and tear that can only be repaired rather than prevented through maintenance, so there’s an inherent advantage to buying a newer used vehicle, but only if it also happens to make better financial sense too.
You really need to compare specific vehicles rather than just “newer or older”. However, if you’re considering recent-enough used vehicles, given that used vehicles are fetching unprecedented premiums at a time when new car sales have never been more highly incentivized (though somewhat less so now that the end of the calendar year has passed), it may make even-better sense to buy a new or dealer-driven demo vehicle that includes the benefit of its full warranty.
Best of luck. I hope this helps.
Q: I’m thinking about buying a used Honda Civic between 2005-2007?
I really like Honda’s and I am thinking about buying a used Honda Civic withing the range of years 2005-2007. I’m in Philadelphia, PA and the price range I have found is between $10,000-$14,000 with mileage in range of 35,000-60,000. Both Certified Pre-Owned and Non-Certified Used. Please give me your opinion on purchasing this vehicle.

Q: What is a good price for a used honda civic si 2006-07?.. and good websites to buy from.?
A: well i would look a round town and in the local sells papers but you can try craigslist.org
Q: Where can I find a used honda civic/prelude for under 2500 in So. Cal?
I am already looking on autotrader, yahoo auto’s and recycler.
A: Preludes go for a little more unless the seller is expecting problems, but i wouldn’t doubt you could find a civic in Cali for under 2500. Try looking in ebay with your zip or pick up those car trader catalogs you see in the gas station, most people post car ads on autotrader.com only if there’s a guaranteed sale
Q: how much for a 1990 honda civic used transmission?
i need to know app. how much for a honda civic USED tranny. i have someone to put it in. how much am i looking at for just the tranny?:
A: depending on miles and warranty from junk yard 250-400 dollars
Q: What are the price ranges for a really used Honda Civic and Accord, Nissan Altima and Maxima?
Im 17. Im working at McDonalds saving up for a car. The car needs to be under $10000
A: There are a TON of cars you can get for <10k. What I like to do is go to my local craigslist.org and go to the cars and trucks section. Then I click on with pictures only and priced between 5,000-10,000 and see what pops up. If I like a car and don't know how it is mechanically I look it up on www.carcomplaints.com. FYI, not all Japanese cars are perfect like people think, so look them up on that last web site before making a move. If I were you and looking for a reliable car right now I would look at getting a 2005-2007 Saturn Ion with an automatic. They are soft right now and last for a long time as long as normal maintenance is done.
Q: Used Honda Civic or used Toyota Corolla?
I am in the market to buy a used car and was wonderfing which one was better the Civic or the Corrolla
thanks :]
I want something between the years 2003-2006 and I don’t want to pay too much, tops 10 grand.
A: It Depends On What Years, But They Are Both Good Cars,
Performance
Both the Honda and the Toyota Corolla are likely to feel somewhat slow because of their high horsepower-to-weight ratio.
Handling
The Civic and the Toyota Corolla have approximately similar tires. With their similar turning radiuses, the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla definitely handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.
Drivetrain
Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Honda Civic isn’t much more powerful than the Toyota Corolla.
Utility
The Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla can accommodate the same number of passengers.
Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Toyota Corolla’s front cabin compared to the Honda Civic. The Toyota Corolla is not particularly more spacious for your passengers than the Honda Civic.
Dimensions
The Honda Civic is a bit more ponderous than the Toyota Corolla. The Honda Civic and the Corolla compete for the same parking spaces.
Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the Toyota Corolla to the dealership as the Honda Civic. Regarding MSRP, the Civic costs quite a bit more than the Toyota.
Overview
The Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic have the same basic after-sale protection.
Q: How much will a used Honda civic type r cost?
A: depends on age, mileage, condition etc.
generally in GBP, the base figures are as follows,
for a 1998 ek9 civic type-r w/60,000 miles in great condition its around £5000-6000
for a 2004 ep3 civic type-r w/60,000 miles in great condition its around £5500-6500+
for the 7th gen new shape it can be anywhere from £9500-13,000 used (2007+)
it really depends on what the owner is asking for it, there is always contributing factors in the cars history that effects asking price.

I’m looking into buying a 1986 Honda Civic (in Ontario, Canada). They are asking $600. It has 240000 km… I looked at it today – the engine doesn’t look very well maintained but it seems to run fine and it has passed the safety inspection. Does this sound like an alright deal???

if i want to buy, should i set up a meeting with AA technician to come alone and test a potential civic for me, how do i go about it?

FORGET ABOUT IT…. GO BUY A CERTIFIED VOLKSWAGEN, SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY DONT BE SUCKERED IN!!!! FULL 2 YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER!!!! GOOD FINANCE RATE!!!!
