I installed a car stereo in a 2001 chevy tahoe. The stereo works but the speaker wont play im pretty sure I connected the harness right so what could be the problem?
A: If the stereo works, and you’re not getting sound, generally it’s for one of two reasons.
(Both of these reasons assuming you’ve connected everything properly)
Usually it’s because you have a factory amp and either
1. You connected the Remote turn on (blue and white wire coming from your aftermarket cd player) to the power antenna – this would mean you only have sound when the FM/AM radio is playing
or
2. You didn’t connect the remote turn on wire at all – meaning the cd player would power on, but without power to the factory amp, you’re not going to get any sound to the speakers

A: Open up the back tail gate, Look behind the light cluster, there are little hole covers that look like black rubber circles that pop out, under those are the screws..make sure you use a magnetic screwdriver!!! They’re pretty easy once you find those hole covers, just unscrew, disconnect old cluster and plug in new…

On my 2000 Chevy tahoe (z71), occationally I can’t shift transmission out of parking level. There’s gotta be a override? Does anyone know?
A: There is a switch on the brake pedal. It is part of the shift interlock system(so the car won’t start in Drive or Reverse and also your brake has to be depressed to engage the Transmission.) It can sometimes get out of alignment or it could have an intemittent short in it(yeah it’s electrical). I would check that 1st. Good Luck

I have a 98 chevy tahoe with 177,00 miles on it. It will not start hot or cold unless I use ether on it. I have already changed the fuel filter, rotor , spark plugs and cap, spark plug wires. It runs fine after hitting it with ether. So, what could it be? also, runs better with full tank of gas.
A: You would have to suspect the fuel pump. A fuel pressure gauge would be the best way to see if thats the problem. Next thing i would check is some of the sensors. A scan tool that can do real time is needed for that. You may have a sensor that is giving bad info so its not giving you enough fuel.

A: My Tahoe seats 7. 2 in front, 2 in middle and a bench seat in the back. The back seat is actually two seats that can be removed, but installed it sets together. The middle seats can be folded down. I love it and it has plenty of room. You can by a model that has 2 bench seats and this would accommodate 8 people. Go the the local dealership, act like you want to buy one, drive it and make you own opinion.

A: You have a lot of choices but will have to keep the same diameter (16″) tire if you do not want to change the wheel size? I believe that the stock tire is a 265/60/16? You could go taller and a little wider? like 285/60/16 or 285/70/16, etc? go to a tire website :

when the distributor is set on TDC set on number one it would not run. we had turn the cap counter clockwise as far as it could go. could it still be the sensor or what what else could it be
A: Shawn is right,but I would like to add,the distributor has to be set in the engine right and timing right on or it will not start or set a cam-to-crank correlation code. If you are sure you have it set on number one,you have to turn the distributor the slightest bit to not set the codes. The computer controls the timing.

A: Yes, the door panel has to come off to access the speakers. The speakers are attached to the door itself, not to the door panel, except for the small tweeters for the Bose system.
