can i get a great deal on a new chevy suburban now that gm has all these problems … i mean like a crazy deal
A: go to dealer/find out
Q: chevy suburban new rear axle?
i saw a truck on craigslist that says it needs a new rear axle and i was wondering what exactly this means. he said the part is about $600. do i have to get it towed to get it fixed im assuming? how much is installation for this part roughly? its a 1993 chevy suburban 1500 4×4
well he said a new rear end so im assuming that its the whole axle. the only reason im considering it is becuase im getting the truck for a lot less because of it. can the truck still start without it so i can see if it runs?
A: never buy any car or truck if you need to work on it alot smarter and since youre asking about axle you dont know hgow to replace it so better to look more axle not hard to repalce and yes cant drive it with out one and cal a aprts store axle dont cost that much unless we talking whole unit and someone replcaing like at a shop replacing whole unit really not much harder to do at home
Q: what do you think about a brand new chevy suburban truck?
A: I would go ask the dealer to find me a GMC VERSION OF THE SUBURBAN, specifically the SLE, ask the salesman, because this is the one that has the big comfortable seats and all the bells and whistles, its similar to the overpriced cadillac version, without the price tag, if you like bare bones suburban go with a chevy, if you are looking for tons of room, good strong drive train get a 3/4 ton with the 5.7 or the 5.3 motor, if you dont need a lot of extra space, they have a yukon, or a tahoe, which is exactly like the suburban, only 18 inches shorter. (I have had both, and even though the tahoe is lighter, I prefer the longer wheel based suburban for the extra room, and the length makes for better towing and more comfortable ride. flex fuel suburbans are available, but on a long trip, you wont save any money, the flex fuel option makes for cheaper fuel, but the performance is less, and the fuel mileage is less, and it equals out to about the same price, best of luck, best time to make a deal is the last few days of the month
Q: how do you install a new stereo in a 2002 chevy suburban?
Okay i know this is one of those questions that no one really wants to answer but id really appreciate the help. I have a new stereo ready to install all the necessary parts and kits. But the reason im asking is because im fresh out of money and would really like some help with installing this myself. i no how to take the old stereo out but putting the new one in with all the wires is were im lost. Any help would be great thanks.
A: You said you have a kit and all the nesscessary parts so follow the directions on the kit, aftermarket radio to factory wire harness and your aftermarket radio.
Q: im in need of a new window for my 1994 Chevy Suburban. it is the liftgate type and i dont want to get robbed.?
the window that was there was tinted, heated and had the wiper with washer. i was quoted at around 800 for a new on but i cant afford that. i live on Ft. Stewart, GA. im a junior soldier with a family and need to get this fixed asap for as little as possible.
A: Go to an auto wrecking yard and get a used one. As you remove it you will learn how to install on your Suburban
Q: Debating on a new or used chevy suburban?
Hi,everyone! As I’m awaiting a tax return(which, i will use as a down payment towards a car) , I am debating if I should get a new or used chevy suburban. I have bad credit, and with the way the auto industry is doing..I’m not sure of what’s the better option. I will be putting down a total of $4800 on the down payment, and I make an average of 1800-2000/month. My first car experience was horrible(I got a lemon), and I have three kids, and I can’t afford to be ripped off again. I really don’t need the added expense that a new car requires, but I’m afraid that if I don’t buy new(or relatively new) that I might be labeled a “sucker” again. So, what should I do? And, please, no one try to persuade me to buy anything else, unless it’s the same size as a suburban..I want a huge suv, no exceptions. Thanks for all your input!
Mama JK
I’m sorry-to clarify, my monthly income is 1800-2000, and I was hoping to put somewhere between 300-500/month towards the vehicle.
A: The Suburban is the best SUV in that size you’re going to get.
A compromise would be to get a low-mileage used one that still had plenty of warranty left, like maybe a couple years old with 15-20k miles.
But the thing is with the auto industry in such a slump, you can often find new ones for just as good a price. I would shop hard for a new one for a while and make SURE you get the Sunday paper and browse all the car ads – that’s where you’ll find the deals. Sales are much better at furnishing deals than any amount of negotiating will ever furnish for you.
Also, you can always purchase an extended warranty on nearly any used vehicle that’s not over 10 or so years old.
If you do go with an extended warranty and it’s not backed by the dealer, make sure you research the warranty company and get an idea of their reputation.
You can also take any potential vehicle to a mechanic of YOUR choosing for inspection. If the dealer won’t let you do that, run like the wind.
Take your time and PAY ATTENTION to your instincts.
Q: How do I program the new factory door remote for my 1993 Chevy Suburban?
A: find the diagnostic connector under dash. starting at the top row, count to the 8th terminal. ground the terminal, locks will all cycle, then hold both lock and unlock buttons at the same time on the new remote, the locks will cycle, then disconnect the ground wire. now try the remote.
Q: whats a fair price for a 1992 chevy suburban that is in need of a few new parts?
My mom want’s to sell it to me for $3000, and I want to buy it. But that seems like a steep price. On Tuesday the governor housing fell of and it oozed transmission fluid down the highway. And given it’s age, more is going to break and need repair soon.
A: http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/used/1992/chevrolet/suburban/index.html
I’d say thats a steep price also. I’d say no more than $1500 given its condition but plug in what you know about it and see what edmunds tells you.

Q: Heated far back right window for 1994 Chevy Suburban, need a new one, where do I buy one?
Last night, some fag shot through the heated window on the right door on the very back of my 1994 Chevy Suburban 1500 with a BB Gun.. I was wondering where I can buy a new one to replace the one that now looks like a big shiny spiderweb.
Please tell me where I can buy a new window for my Suburban Please…
I live in the Portales, NM area and if the parts are online it doesn’t really matter so… yeah…
We dont have a dump or anything around here anymore I don’t think, so online orders would be nice =]…
Thanks!
A: www.1stchevyparts.com is an Chevy dealor that sells parts online, I dont knoow if they would ship a window, though. Its probably a dealor part. Most glass shops would probably have this, or at least could get one. Windows are best left to the experts.
Q: 1987 chevy suburban not charging, new battery and alternator, not draining just not charging.?
Ive got a question, were there any suburban engines externally regulated in the 1980s, bc there is a plug coming out right near the alternator plug that isnt attach to anything, Im thinking if this engine is from another older sub. it may be a plug for the regulator and thats the reason why its not charging fully. I dont know much about electrical but couldnt hurt to ask right.
A: look on the alternator……………near the plug….it should be stamped…..F….for field…………A …for armature………..the field need,s a pulse charge for the alternator to charge…….usually supplied through a resistor/wire……..you can cross the field to the armature terminal,s…..this will make it a one wire alternator………..it will produce……….but it,s not the right way to do this…………..see the charging diagram in a chilton/hayne,s/motor,s….manual……it will illustrate the intended wiring from the factory.
Q: 1987 Chevy suburban not charging,NEW alternator and battery. Not Draining, just isnt charging.?
Hey so the problem isnt fixed and im short on money. The harness must have a fault in it running to the plug in the back of the alternator. I dont know for sure. Does anyone know how much it would be to have the whole truck rewired?(couldnt hurt being it is 20 years old). But if someone thinks they know of another reason it may not be charging would be helpful. thanks.
A: Yes it is most likely a wire fault. Just run a new 14 guage wire from the back of the alt+ directly to the bat+. Move the stock wirring far away. Insure the new wire is well plumbed and of good quality. Make multiple measurements at the battery for good battery upkeep at many levels of use. The ultimate taxing is when the air and lights are at full on while the engine is idling. Power windows and seats ,during this onslot, may give rise to higher idling wants.
Q: Which Chevrolet dealership in Tampa, Florida is selling a new 2007 Suburban for the lowest price?
looking to buy a brand new 2007 chevy suburban for the lowest price in tampa
A: In Florida and California GM is offering this great deal of a credit! Make sure you get it. It will limit your gasoline cost to $1.99/gallon. They (GM) will pay the difference for the year.
Q: Does a 1989 Chevy Suburban in “Factory New” condition ever have a classic potential.?
I have a 1989 Chevy Suburban 2500 Silverado with a 7.4 lit. 454 engine. It’s in great cond. now and it wouldn’t be that hard to unlock it’s full potential (if it has any.) I think that the Suburban I have is the single most unique model ever ’cause it was the first year they put a hard drive (computer) in the Suburbans and the last year they put the “rat” engines in them, meaning the 454 and the 350. Also it has the the best body design of the R/V series which Chevy used for over a decade. All these VERY relevant things are not combined in any other year. So there!
A: Yes in another 10 years V8 will be hard to come by and people would love the 454 and to show it off when everyone has a 4banger to save on fuel cost and riding in a small box with seems like no shocks.
Q: 79 Chevy suburban I’m going to buy a new tail gate from junk yard how do I hook a battery up to it to see?
if the window motor works there a orange blue and brown wire
A: Remember, the body of the vehicle is negative. So, any wire from the motr or switch will be positive. One wire will be bor window up, the other for window down.
Simply hook up one wire at a time to the battery, then connect the negative terminal to the tailgate, (preferrably to a place where bare metal is accessible). The window motor will run and move the window regulator up/down the track.
Best to remove the window for this test, unless you are just going to move it very little(just enough to check the workings of the motor) If you run the window up enough and it is not secured in the frame and tailgate, it could shatter with it’s own weight. Happened to me while working on a ‘79 Bronco.
Expensive lesson to learn.
Q: looking to find a brand new engine for my 1997 chevy suburban. 5.7 liter vortex?
a nice rebuilt would be fine also
A: Try a local auto parts store. A lot of those provide remanufactured engines. Vortec, not vortex.
