Q: What oil does Ford recommend for Focus cars?
I have Ford Focus 2006 1.6 car, I have been using 20w40 fully synthetic oil. Yesterday i saw 10w20 and 20w 40 oils and was confused which to use. Would appreciate if anyone could help. Also note that i live in UAE where the weather goes up to 50 degrees Celsius.

A: Assalomu aleykum wr wb,
Would recommend using more expensive one. Common rule: the better quality, the higher price. Cuz I think it doesn’t make much difference in any place, let alone UAE.

Q: How good is a ford focus 2003 Lx diesel?
I am thinking of buying a ford focus diesel 2003 Lx. Does anyone own this at the moment or have owned this previously. Is it reliable, What are the negative points what advice can you give to me regarding this car in all aspects.

Thank you

A: I always check out www.carsurvey.org before I buy a car. Honest comments and ratings from real owners on just about every make/model out there!

Q: Can you program a ford focus keyless remote to a 1998 mustang?
my friend gave me a ford focus keyless remote because his dealership has many. i was wondering if it is possible to program the ford focus remote to my mustang gt?

A: No.

Q: What is a 2007 Ford Focus Wagon worth to buy?
The Ford Focus on a used car lot is asking 14000.00 and has 30,000 kil. Automatic transmission, 4 door sedan station wagon. How much is this car worth?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Ford focus?
can anyone tell me the book price on a 2000 Ford focus zetec 1.6 5dr hatch please

A: dealer price= £3380
good condition private= £2970
poor condition private= £2330
more info go to www.parkers.co.uk
hope this help

Q: Ford Focus?
I drive a ford focus and its a stick. So here is my question… When your driving your car, and you shift into 2nd gear does it scrape? Its not that I don’t know how to drive a stick because i had a car before this one that was a stick. But maybe its just because I’m not patient enough to wait to shift. IDK. I just wanted to know if anyone has this problem.

A: you might not be pushing the clutch in all of the way. try and make a conscious effort to push the clutch all of the way to the floor before shifting. If it still makes a noise you might have a worn synchro. Good luck!

Q: Ford Focus?
I have no idea what year it is, i think around 2003 or so, it looks pretty new though. I THINK its a 2003 Ford Focus zx3. Is this a good first car for a 15 year old guy haha. I have heard its very good on gas. But i really dont wanna be the kid with the gay car lol. Its red btw. haha

A: Yeah its fine, im currently learning to drive in a 1998 Ford Focus which would be my first car, in my opinon a good car for people learning to drive.

Q: Ford Focus?
I went 2 the oction in NC and i bought a Ford Focus….it had less than 80,000 miles on it…and its a 2002…nice body and clean….i paid $3000…..did i get jept off or did i get a good deal?

A: Awesome car great price

Q: Ford focus..?
I have a ford focus. It’s older, and well..

I drove it ALL the way from Buffalo, NY to Niagara Falls..Pull it into my driveway, turn it off, go inside, go back outside and attempt to start it..

and all I hear is ‘click-click’. The radio turns on, then shuts off, so does the air. But it WON’T start up completely, and the ‘click-click’ noise is atrotiously obnoxious. :/ Any clue?

A: Raise the hood stand in front of the car look on the left side you will see Little thing called a celluloid switch ,take the red battery cable loose go down to your local part,s store get you a new switch two bolt,s hold it on 15 minutes you should be running.

Q: ford focus?
where can i get bodykit for my ford focus zts in gta????

A: check out the link…..all info is there includin address n fone #
www.bodykit.ca

Q: ford focus?
My v-reg peaugot 206 1.6 just died in a car crash. I loved driving it, but now I need a new car! Someone has suggested a 1.6 Ford Focus – 5-door. What do you think?

Thanks!
yes, I need to get around, go on holidays etc, but something a bit sexy would be good, too!

A: I have a focus estate and its great, good thing about Ford is the parts and labour are cheap.
On a down side it wont get you noticed it depends what you want it for?

Q: Ford Focus?
i am buying a ford focus but i cant decide on what year or model to get any ideas?

A: Consider getting a Sentra or Civic. A better investment in the long-run.

I would not buy any Ford product right now.

If you have your mind made up though, best of luck.

Q: Ford Focus..?
A newer Ford Focus. — I was joking around and ask about that and laughed and she said that we would think about it and that they were pretty good on gas n then some other stuff. Its $2,259 cash due at signing. It was $169/month and it gets 35 mpg. But I can see the insurance costing alot since it would be a newer one.
I think the most money a teen around here can get is almost $8 an hour at mcdonalds so if i worked 8 hours a day for 5 days or so i could get around $300 a week. and i dont live far from the school(approx. 7 miles), and mcdonalds is right down the street. so its not much gas for that stuff.
also, we raise golden retrievers and we have been selling them for about $250 a pup and Im gonna start helping out with that, and i will get a percentage of the cash from it.
My parents trust me enough to realize i wouldnt do the dumb stuff that alot of people my age do, i know 3 guys that tryed to beat a train at lunch and were in the hospital for a long time and were very lucky.
im talking about the sedan and coupe ones. the 2008.

A: I’m sure $169 a month is for 72 or 84 months…are you sure you want to be committed to a car that long?? Think of all that interest you’d be paying. The warranty will run out after 36 months..so any repairs after that you’ll be stuck with. Just something to think about. Just because the payment is cheap doesn’t make it a good deal.

Q: What would be the cost to replace a clutch on my Ford Focus?
I have a Ford Focus SE, and am being quoted approximately $1000 total parts/labor to replace it at the Ford dealership.

Is that about right, or am I being overcharged?

A: yea that’s about right. cheaper for a domestic car i guess. i drive an 89 honda & mine was $2k

Q: After how many miles do you replace the timing belt on a Ford Focus?
I have a Ford Focus 03 1.8 Turbo Diesel. After how many miles do you need to change the belt. Is it 100k or 120k? Thanks.

A: 100,000 (or 10 years if you are doing a lower mileage) is Ford’s recommended interval.

Q: When will the new Honda Accord be available in India?
There is an upgrade to the Honda Accord. so when will the new accord come to india

A: Sharang Sharma Ji…….

I have an advise for you that if you have a great interest in Honda Accord, visit a great website whose URL is

http://automobiles.honda.com/

For Daily Updates from Honda Automobiles, please register youself by Sign-up at http://automobiles.honda.com/

I am sure that you will get full and complete information about every thing.

Q: Do you guys like the exterios of the new 08 honda accord sedan?
I am 17 years old and my parents bought me a new honda accord sedan. I had to think for several days to decide between the coupe or sedan. In my opinion the sedan is just so ugly, while the coupe looks really nice. After consider all my pros and cons, I decided to get the sedan because of the money. Geting the coupe would be much more expensive. Now that i got the sedan I was happy but i still think about the coupe. What would u have done and give me ur thoughts on the exterior of the sedan.

A: I think the new Accord sedans look awesome for what they are. They look a lot like the current 5 series BMW…in a good way.

The Accord coupes are also very nice looking cars (but are a little to big/long for a coupe IMO).

I would have made the same choice you did except that I like the look of the sedan slightly better than the coupe personally.

Q: should i go for a used bmw under 20000 or a new honda accord coupe?
hi im confused as to whether i should go for a new honda accord coupe or a used bmw less than 20000? i will be changing the car after 3-4 years. what would you suggest?

A: bmw

Q: Does anybody want to swap a brand new 2008 Honda Accord for a MINI Cooper?
I just bought a new Honda Accord (LX-P with alloy wheels and power driver’s seat) grey on black, and it only has 788 miles. I made an impulsive decision and realized that I don’t need all the space. I’m a HUGE fan of MINIs and I really want one. Does anybody have a nice MINI Cooper they would like to swap with my car?? Please?

A: Even though it may have been impulsive, you made a great choice.
Don’t open yourself up to trading for someone else’s problem.

In addition, unless you paid cash for the Accord, it isn’t as easy as swapping titles. If you financed the Accord, you don’t technically own it.

Q: Would you rather get a new Honda Accord or Mazada 6?
I am planning on getting a new(er) car soon. I really like the new model Honda Accords (08-Present) and the New Mazda 6 (09) . If you could choose either one, which one would it be and why?

I have no knowledge of cars. i always hear everyone rave about Honda’s but never really hear anything about mazda.

A: Mazdas are ok too, but my friend knows about cars and she doesnt like them. I heard that mazdas are a bit more expensive than the accord to maintain.

I’d personally get an accord because i like the interior better and the resale value is much better. The V6 accord’s fuel economy is better too

Q: Anyone have problems with XM Radio on the new Honda Accord EX-L V6.?
I own a brand new 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6 and my XM Radio signal sputters out after constantly changing stations and searching. The info is still displayed but not sound. The only way for it to come back is to restart the car. I am planning on bringing my car back to the dealer to check out the connections etc. Is this a known flaw or defect or has anyone encountered this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

A: YES. I have a 2008 EX-L and have the exact same problem. I see from Googling the issue that we are no alone. I plan on calling the Honda dealing now to see what they have to say..

Q: What is the name of the song on the new Honda Accord ad?
I love the song (as well as the car) on the 2008 Honda Accord ads. Does anyone know the title or artist?

A: E.L.O – Hold On Tight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TLmpL2AzLs

Q: What do you guys think of the new 08 Honda accord Coupe?
Doing a project for Marketing class. Please state anything of what you think of the new honda accord COUPE 08. (looks, features, would you buy it etc..)

Also state what kind of car you currently drive and your AGE.

THANKS in advance. And if you want your comment stated in the project, provide first name or nickname. THANKS

A: #1 Honda Accord Fan!!
Well first off let me begin by saying that this will be my 4th Accord that I will be purchasing! I love everything about it, from the new style design, the wheels thats available on the Ex, love the front, back… etc. I love everything, and YES, I have already pre ordered my accord coupe, should be arriving within a few weeks!!

I currently drive an 06 Acura RSX Type S!!
22 y/o

Q: Can anybody tell me how much it would cost to replace the front bumper of a brand new Honda Accord ?
While reversing I dinged the corner of a Honda Accord front bumper. The bumper was cracked and there was no other damage to the lights or the hood. . Please let me know asap as I have to go to the dealership tomorrow and I don’t want to get ripped off. Many thanks.
I backed into a Honda Accord that was parked behind me. I told the owner of the Honda that I would pay to get the bumper replaced. I need to know how much this will set me back. The car was brand new. Thanks to all those who have answered and those who answer this question.

A: if your talking NZ dollars over a grand, easy!

Q: When and where should I take my new Honda Accord for an oil change?
I have a 2007 Accord with close to 6K miles on it. The dashboard computer is telling me the oil still has 30% of its life. Should I just change the oil, since I’ve driven 6K miles or listen to the odometer and wait. Also, is it worth getting the oil changed at the dealer?

A: I highly recommend you take your vehicle to a Honda dealership for your oil change. You should forge a relationship with your dealership because if you always take your vehicle there they will be more likely to find a problem before it becomes an issue. They get to know your vehicle and they keep all the records on their computer system. They will also call you when it’s time to bring it in for a maintenance check. In our dealership we find those customers who bring their vehicles in to us always have their small problems caught early because we get to know their vehicles.

I think you’ll find that they aren’t anymore expensive then some of the quickie lube type places. You should also know that if something were to happen during or because of having your vehicle serviced other than a dealership it could (and I’m only saying – could) void your warranty. Is it really worth the couple of dollars you may or may not save to take that chance?

As for the frequency of the oil change – though you may not have reached the recommended mileage it also depends on how long ago you in fact purchased the vehicle. If for instance you purchased your 2007 a year ago and even though you’ve only driven it 6km it is should be taken in for an oil change. So while I agree with the previous poster about waiting until “it” tells you to change your oil you should also consider the length of time since your last one.

Maintaining your Honda regularly not only keeps your warranty in good standing it also helps to retain “value”. It’s a well known fact that Honda’s tend to hold value very well and when your go to sell it you will find that having a service record at a dealership is an added feature prospective buyers are looking for.

Q: I am in the market for a new Honda Accord this fall.?
Other than the cash savings, is there any reason to go for a 2009 Honda Accord other than a 2008? Are there any new features that are coming out in 2009 that I may miss out on?
I realize dealers want to move their inventory (even more so that time of year) and I would have a nice price advantage in buying an 08 over an 09 otherwise.

A: Check out www.vehix.com I’m car shopping too, and let me tell you what, they give you vehicle showrooms where you can do a 360 of the interior AND they have all the crash test ratings and specifications.

Good car choice btw, the new accords are HAWT!

Q: What is causing a whistle sound in a brand new 2008 Honda Accord Sedan?
I just purchased today a new 2008 Honda Accord LXP Sedan with only 29 miles and I am noticing a whistle sound whenever accelerating or I push the gas pedal. I also notice the whistle sound whenever I turn the Steering wheels either right or left. Your help is greatly appreciated.

A: It’s new. Take it to the service department and have them fix whatever is wrong.

Q: First service of my new Honda Accord 2008?
Hi..

My new Honda Accord 2008 is due for it’ s first service.

Can someone tell me, what exactly they do for a first service? and what are the things I should be aware of at this stage?

The serivce department lady told me it may take only 30 min!!

Thanks in advance.

A: READ YOUR OWNER’S MANUAL -

All the information & maintenance schedules are there.

»»»

Q: Anyone else experience the uncomfortable seats in the new Honda Accord?
I test a Honda accord for an entire day, and I noticed the seat was hard and was uncomfortable after driving for an hour. Anyone one have a similar experience. I was for sure I would buy it but now I don’t know. What’s ur recommendation?
yes the seats were leather

A: I got rid of my Accord. The side bolsters on the drivers seat were very uncomfortable. They pressed into my thighs. I am medium sized. I could not find a comfortable driving position for my legs.
You were smart to test first. I never thought about seats before. I just bought a car and drove it. Seats are seats. Never again..

Q: What is the name of the song on the new Honda Accord TV commercial?
I believe it originally received a lot of radio airplay in the late sixties or early seventies. I’d like to identify the song title, the artist or group who sings it, and the album it came from. Thanks!

A: There are two new Honda Accord Crosstour commercials out right now with older songs in them. The link below each song will take you to a page to watch the commercial and listen to the song.

“Pata Pata” by Miriam Makeba

Q: What are some of differences between the GMC Sierra and a Chevrolet Silverado?
Like performance wise, looks, cost? And like GMC has a truck called Sierra Denali but does Chevy have on similar to that?

A: G6er: There was never a Cobalt GT.

For the most part, the Silverado and Sierra are the same. The Sierra is generally more upscale than the Silverado, but nonetheless uses the same drivetrain and many body parts. The only difference looks-wise is the badging, front end and wheels. The GMC does cost more than the Chevy as well, and has a more upscale interior. Performance is similar, but as you mentioned GMC has the Sierra Denali, which is akin to the Silverado LTZ.

Q: Can you give me the blue book value of a 1983 Chevrolet Silverado?
This truck is not running- so I know it is worth far less than the actual blue book value- but I am just curious to see what the regular value would be. I tried looking on Kelly Blue Book but it does not go before 1988. Thank you for your help.
I’m sorry, it is not a Silverado, it is a pickup.

A: well if its not running hard to say but junk prices vary 120 bucks maybe more .. call a salvage yard and ask them how much would they pay for a non running 83 Silverado so why didn you just go with what a non running 88 would be

Q: Anybody know how to program a keyless entry for a 1998 chevrolet silverado?
Says it has it, I have the remote with a new battery, but still doesn’t work.

A: the remote will need to be programmed.
key in the OFF position
you need a jumper wire between pin 4 & 8 of the DLC connector (data link connector). under the dash drivers side.
the horn will chirp confirming programing mode and the the receiver will respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
press and hold the transmitter lock and unlock buttons simoultanously for about 10 seconds
the door locks will again cycle letting you know that the programming is complete.
if you have a second remote, repeat the above step.
when done remove the jumper wire , turn the ignition ON then OFF…..done.

Q: Replacing the windshield washer resevoir on a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up?
I need to know what has to be removed to get to the resevoir. It is located underneath the battery holder.

A: You will need 8mm -15mm sockets and possibly a phillips screw driver
Disconnect your battery and remove it,
then grab a 14mm socket,(I think dont hold me to that one) and pull out your battery tray.
The resovoir is either held in by a couple (phillips) sheet metal screws or a couple of metric metal screws(10mm or 13mm)
It’s a pretty easy swap and if you careful and patient you should have no problems.
One more tip check your battery tray for corrosion and if you see some hit it with a wire brush and shoot some rust inhibiting black (rust-o-leum) paint before putting it back.
Hope this helps, (and I was right about the sizes, LOL)
Good luck

Q: 2000 Chevrolet silverado security light stays on?
I have a 2000 chevy silverado half ton four wheel drive with the 5.3. My security light stays on constantly. Never had any problems with truck starting but I am tired of the light. Any answers?

A: I believe you need to contact your local dealer and see about having your computer re-flashed.
.

Q: How do u take the fuel filter off a chevrolet silverado 2000?
i need to know how to take the fuel filter off. i think its clogged.

A: Your fuel pump is in your gas tank–under pressure, you have clips that hold your fuel filter on, new clips come with a new filter, but remember your gas line in under pressure,so when you change your filter gas is going to spray out of the line,a cloged filter with destroy your fuel pump

Q: Why does my 1988 Chevrolet Silverado 350 TPI engine stall when I come to stop lights or stop on a hill?
My truck has well over 150k on it and it has been doing this for a little while. Now I think it’s worse and I’m scared to take it across town with it behaving this way. Any ideas?

A: One thing that is common on this truck as they are getting some age on them now is Low pick-up coil output that will make it stall on deceleration to verify this you need to check the pick-up coil… Remove the distributor cap and rotor. Disconnect the pick-up coil from the ignition module and connect a DVOM set on AC volts between the Green and White wires. With the battery fully charged and the starter in good working order, crank the engine over and verify that the AC voltage from the pick-up coil is greater than 0.7 (700 milli volts) volts AC. If not, check the resistance across the pick up coil wires. It should be 750-950 ohms and not shorted to ground. Verify there are no cracks in the magnet (reluctor) on the shaft. Check the connection at the module for signs of corrosion or deterioration. If the pick-up resistance and output is within specification and the pick-up is in good condition, replace the distributor shaft, it has a weak magnet.

Q: I have a 79 Chevrolet Silverado with tranny problems?
It has a turbo 350. I can’t get third gear, and when I put it into reverse, sometimes it goes, but it jumps into gear, and other times it does not go at all. What would cause this, and can it be fixed?

A: Both reverse and high gear in the th350 use one of the same clutch packs. It is reparable by having the transmission rebuilt by a reputable shop. But before you do, check your transmission fluid. If this is OK, then get 3 or 4 estimates on the rebuild along with the warranty from each place before you choose where to have it fixed.

Q: Where is the computer located on a 2002 chevrolet silverado?
and how do I connect back up to the engine in another vehicle?

A: there are many in this truck, this is tough to do, there are several little modules in random places and tons of wires,

Q: What does the service 4 wheel drive light mean in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado?
I was driving down the highway and all of a sudden my service 4 wheel drive light came on and i cant figure out why.

A: It most likely means that service for your four wheel drive system is required based on the mileage currently on your vehicle; this is a normal service interval.

Q: Why are my day-time running lights not working on my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado?
My day-time running lights do not come on at all. My headlights are on constantly. When turn the ignition swith the head lights come on and remain on while I am driving. I checked the bulbs and I could not find a blown fuse. I am not sure what else to check.

A: did you turn them off at the switch

Q: Where can I find interior Pillar trim for a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab?
I am needing to replace a piece of trim on the passenger side. It is the piece that runs along the “A” pillar (along the windshield from the dash to headliner) and has the small tweeter speaker mounted in it. It is tan in color.

A: Try looking it up on E-bay. I generally have good luck finding whatever I need on that site.

Q: How to install after market radio (sony) in a 2003 Chevrolet silverado?
I have removed the factory stereo successfully, installed the wiring harness, and connected the color coded wires to each other. Now the problem is that I can’t get any sound out of the radio. There is audio slots on the back of the radio and cables to conncet into the slots but they are not color coded. Purple green and white don’t conncet to white and red. I have the antenna adapter installed to, what way do I connect these? Thanks, Spencer

A: Need more information. What wiring harness do you have? And is your Silverado equipped with a factory Bose audio system?

Q: How do you install a Smittybilt brush guard on a 2003 chevrolet silverado?
It’s stainless steel, and I just need to know how to install it.

A: If your truck is 4wd it will prob go where the tow hooks are. If it is 2wd then some cutting will be required. Usually, all brush guards attach to the frame in some manner.

Q: How much stock horsepower does a 2005 Extended Cab Chevrolet Silverado with a 5.3L V-8 have?
Just wordering what the stock hp was on them. Or a website that has stock HP ratings for vehicles.

A: 295 hp. www.cars.com has every car made in the last 10 years or so with all the imoportant specs like horsepower, fuel mileage, trim levels, and available options. Good Luck.

Q: Is it possible to put a 472 Cadillac engine into a 1967 chevelle without changing anything?
Will the bell housing and motor mounts line up?

A: you would have to weld in new motor mounts, use a BOC ( buick, olds, pontiac ) transmission and your driveshaft would have to be replaced with a custom made one, your chevy tranny won’t work behind a caddy engine.

Q: How do i change a rear axel bearing on a 1967 Chevelle?
I need a link maybe with step by step directions.

A: I would purchase the OEM Overhaul Manual and the Shop Manual. I believe the Overhaul Manual has the whole procedure and pictures also.

It is not a difficult task. This rear axle is what GM calls a 12-Bolt most likely. The bearings are pressed into the housing and the axle rides in the bearing. There is a “C” retainer that holds the axle from sliding out of the housing. A single bolt holds the spider gear shaft and when that bolt is removed, the axle can be nudged inward and the clip can be removed. Check the condition of the axle where the axle rides the roller bearings. If it is bad, you may be able to find a repair kit that consists of a sleeve that is pressed on the axle and a different bearing that has a small ID.

1. Jack up car and place on Jack Stands
2. Remove Rear Cover to drain and replace gear oil
2. Remove Wheel
3. Remove Brake Drum
4. Remove Spider Gear Shaft Retaining Bolt
5. Remove Spider Gear Shaft
6. Remove “C” Clips (One each axle)
6. Slid out Axle
7. Extract old bearing from housing
8. Press in bearing
9. Reassemble remainder

Remember to plan for New Gaskets, Seal and Gear Oil.

Edited 10/13 – Opps, I first had instructions for a Non-”C” Clip Rear End…

Q: Why don’t my brake lights tail lights and turn signals work on my 1967 Chevelle?
I’ve changed the turn signal switch, brake light switch and followed all of the wires and everything seems connected. I also checked all of the grounds and they all look good. My guage clusters work and all so does the dome light, I can’t figure this out any suggestions would help thanks

A: Check all of the fuses on the fuse panel under the dash, not just the ones for the lights.

Q: I have a 1967 Chevelle and the blinkers 1/2 work. When I try to use it they stay lit, they don’t blink. Why?
Also the hazards work fine.

A: did you change the flasher ? you have 2 of them. 1 for the turn signals and 1 for the emergency flashers.

Q: buying a 1967 chevelle. looking for body specs on this vehicle?
might be buy buying a 1967 chevelle.looking for the exact length of this car to see if it fits in the garage with other vehicle. thank you. dan

A: the chevelle is well under the 20′ garage size. (if you have a standard garage) i believe the car is 15′4″ but not 100% on that . i bet im real close .. never had to measure mine.

Q: i just bought a 1967 chevelle with a big h.p. 396. do i need to add lead to the pump gas. ?
it’s the original motor with a lot of gizmos on it. do i need to be aware of any other things to keep it running?
thanks
mike

A: Simply drop a few small Chinese toys into the gas tank. That should be enough lead for at least 3000 miles. (jk)

Q: where can i find tailight bezels for a 1967 chevelle 300 deluxe?

A: Try Year One or Classic Industries….and see if they can help………ujn

Q: 1967 Chevelle Crossmember?
Hello I am trying to locate a 1965-1967 crossmember for a Chevelle I tried ebay but yet no luck, can anyone help me or direct me to the right place, My BF needs one to proceed with his car, would like to surprise him. Thanks.

A: try http://www.yearone.com

http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=0

Q: i have a 1967 chevelle in good condition that was givin to me is it worth anything?
chevy chevelle 1967

A: No, it’s worth absolutely nothing. In fact, there is the infamous GM curse on all 67 Chevelles (especially 427 SS models). The only way to make sure you don’t get hit with the curse is to IMMEDIATELY call me and sign the pink slip. I will take it off your hands, and guarantee that you don’t get cursed. DON’T WAIT – CALL NOW!!!!

Q: speakers with a 1967 chevelle?
okay, so i have a 1967 chevelle, i have 6×9s in the rear deck, and subs in the trunk, but i need speakers for the front. now i was looking at a kick panel speaker. now, iv seen things you can buy on chevelle resto. websites that goes there, but would that mean i would lose my vents there????

A: You will lose vents.

Q: where can i find a 1964-1967 chevy chevelle project car for sale, besides ebay?
i dont want an absolute rust bucket, but i would do work on it, i dont want something done, i want a car that i can make my own.

A: Try here http://ww2.collectorcartraderonline.com/

Q: A car color question concerning a 1967 Chevy Chevelle?
Back in the 60’s, a friend of mine had a 1967 SS396 Chevy Chevelle Malibu; the car was vibrant sky blue with a black vinyl top. Can anyone inform me of the exact name of the color of blue it was; I saw other GM cars back then that were painted with this color so I take it that it was a stock color. Thank you for any response.
This link shows the exact car he had:http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%3Fei%3DUTF-8%26p%3D1967%2BChevey%2BMalibu&w=160&h=83&imgurl=www.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3D1967%2BChevey%2BMalibu%23focal%3D3677bc04d66ddbd22f9705e81a9b9593%26furl%3Dhttp%253a%252f%252fwww.seriouswheels.com%252fpics-1960-1969%252f1967-Chevrolet-Malibu-Blue-ra-t-sy.jpg&size=&name=search&rcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3D1967%2BChevey%2BMalibu%23focal%3D3677bc04d66ddbd22f9705e81a9b9593%26furl%3Dhttp%253a%252f%252fwww.seriouswheels.com%252fpics-1960-1969%252f1967-Chevrolet-Malibu-Blue-ra-t-sy.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3D1967%2BChevey%2BMalibu%23focal%3D3677bc04d66ddbd22f9705e81a9b9593%26furl%3Dhttp%253a%252f%252fwww.seriouswheels.com%252fpics-1960-1969%252f1967-Chevrolet-Malibu-Blue-ra-t-sy.jpg&p=1967+Chevy+Malibu&type=&no=2&tt=111&oid=http%3A%2F%2Fts1.mm.bing.net%2Fimages%2Fthumbnail.aspx%3Fq%3D427104076448%

A: it is definately the Marina Blue poly #2, the Nantucket is a light blueish silver. I have an original book with paint chips of all the colors available. Buick called it Blue Mist, Olds Bimini Blue and Pontiac called it Tyrol Blue. Very nice color!

Q: where is the vin numbers on a 1967 chevelle? Are they on the door?

A: Look at the base of the dash through the windshield, drivers side. There should be a tag there w/the vin # on it.

Q: where can I find a rear seat for a 1967 chevelle 2 door at a reasonable price ?

A: http://www.chevelle.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=54

Q: which car is faster 1967 mustang or a 1970 chevelle?
me and my friend are fighting over which car is faster. but to me the 1967 shellby mustang is the best. which is faster. thanks

A: The Shelby big block and the big block Chevelle, it’s a close race and comes down to the car with the best tires, gears and driver..

Q: Mini Cooper???
I am 18 and graduating this year…I am getting a car for my graduation gift and i was wondering how high my car insurance would be if i got a Mini Cooper…I know you cant give me an exact number but would it be High or on the lower side??? Thanks

A: Go for an original Mini Cooper 1964 or 65 model. It’s a classic, will not depreciate in value and the insurance will be less than the current version.

Check carefully for corrosion in the subframes before you buy though. most of the survivors will have been rebuilt at least once. Best colours are either Goodwood green or red, both with a white roof.

Ian M

Q: Mini Cooper…?
So…I am searching for my first car and I was wondering if a Mini Cooper would be a good one. If it isn’t does anyone have any suggestions?
What id the Difference between a Mini Cooper and a Mini Cooper S?

A: Yeesh. So many uninformed people who don’t have ANY idea what they’re talking about.

The difference between an Cooper and Cooper S. The “S” is either supercharged or turbo charged, depending on the year you get.

Mini’s have far higher crash and safety ratings than any pick up or SUV. In fact, not only will a Mini protect you better in an accident (superior design and six airbags), but they are nimble and quick enough to AVOID accidents.

http://bridger.us/2002/12/16/CrashTestingMINICooperVsFordF150/

BTW, Mini’s are made by MINI in the UK, which is a division of BMW. Like Chevrolet is a division of General Motors.

Very reliable cars. And oh yeah, MOST newer cars require flatbed trucks for towing/transport.

Good first time car.

Do some research on this forum too:

http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/index.php

Q: Mini Cooper????????????
does BMW make the Mini Cooper,- if yes-since when?

thanks

A: The original mini was designed and built by BMC in 1959 and was in production until October 2000. The new mini has been designed and built by BMW who bought the entire rover group, which included the mini brand name, in February 1994. The original mini was produced more or less unchanged until 2000. The new BMW mini was originally shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1997 as a concept car. The final car was officially launched at the Paris motor show in 2000. In July 2001, it was launched on the UK market. The “current” mini cooper was launched in April 2001 and is owned and made by BMW.

Q: Mini Cooper?
What do you guy think about mini coopers, Should I get one?
I am a college student, live on my own and want a mini? What are the pro’s and con’s? I’ve done my research but I wanna hear more opinions.

A: I have a 2006 Mini Cooper S, with the John Cooper Works package. I didn’t buy to carry more than just me and my wife.

It’s well built (engineered by BMW), nimble, and fast (had it up to 130 on the track, totally stock). The sucker’s a total blast to drive. Incredibly safe, in fact safer than SUV’s. They withstand collisions much better because of their unibody construction and crumple zones, and have even out performed an F-150 in a head to head crash test. Of course, with a Mini, it’s easier to AVOID trouble. In an SUV, all you can do is hang on while it rolls.

The insurance difference between the Mini, and the Suzuki Sidekick it replaced, was $25 a year. Insurance companies list it as a hatchback.

I would suggest you check out this forum, and you will get a LOT of information: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/index.php

Motor On!

Q: mini cooper??
what do u know about mini coopers? are they safe? how much do they cost (used or new)?

A: Yes, they’re safe and they’re nice cars. You’ll pay about $35,000 new or about $18,000 for a decent used one. Worth the cost? I don’t think so, but if you’ve got money to burn, the people I know who own them love their cars.

Q: What are your thoughts on the mini cooper convertible?
I’m a college student living on my own and was looking to into getting the mini cooper convertible? What are your thoughts? Anyone own one?

A: its a great car for someone who doesnt carry so many passengers all the time. its stylish, and with the cooper s, it has some speed too.

short version- good choice

Q: What are your thoughts on the mini cooper convertible?
I’m a college student living on my own and was looking to into getting the mini cooper convertible? What are your thoughts? Anyone own one?

A: Almost owned one. Test drove it, loved it, then I saw the price of it. It’s cute, sporty, and adorable. It’s certainly not the safest car in the world but they’re trying. In case of a rollover they have steal bars to help with, well, helping you survive.. Gas milage is pretty darn good too(27 mpg city / 35 mpg hwy). All in all though It’s a good car, I would get one in a heartbeat if I had the money.

Whatever car you get hope you like it!

Jane

Q: My mini cooper got keyed from the rear to the front. How much will it cost to get it fixed?
I know who keyed my mini cooper. The key marks are somewhat deep. How much will it cost for them to get it fixed? An estimate?

A: I don’t know for a Mini, but my old 2003 Jeep (I’ve got a BMW now) got deeply keyed from front to back. After much negotiations, it came out to about $650.

Q: My mini cooper got keyed from the rear to the front. How much will it cost to get it fixed?
I know who keyed my Mini Cooper. The key marks are somewhat deep. How much will it cost for them to get it fixed? An estimate?

A: Without seeing the car It’s hard to say any where from $250 -$750 the lower price will probably be found at a detail shop that does air brush touch ups

Q: Is the 2009 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works really worth the extra money over the 2009 Mini Cooper S?
In the USA, the 2009 Mini Cooper S is worth $22,600 brand new. The 2009 Mini John Cooper Works is $29,200 brand new. My budget is $25,000 out the door exactly. Should I go ahead and purchase a Mini Cooper S or a used Mini John Cooper Works? Is the John Cooper Works Mini really worth the extra money?

A: Well, if your budget can only handle $25K, then just start off with a basic Cooper S (if you can find it at that price range though). You can have a MCS with a JCW package (just not the engine stuff). I have a friend who has the MCS with a JCW package on her car.

Is the JCW worth it? It all depends on your driving style. If you want fast and flash, the JCW is worth it in my opinon (and also you have to know how to handle this little rocket too….so your driving skills must be up to par).

Q: Mini cooper?

A: they are cute cars and i want.

Q: mini cooper????????????????????
i really really reeeeeaaaaaallllly like them. they are so cute and little. has anyone had one or anyone just have anything to say about them? i want one for my first car, and im trying to convince my father

A: I just bought a 2007 Mini Cooper S. It is still under warranty so all my oil changes, tire rotations are still included. I will likely buy the additional warranty which around here runs another 1800 from the BMW dealership. I did a lot of research and decided I had to have this car. The ONLY thing is… it is pretty fast and you will have to be careful (and not let guys drive it! LOL). If your dad tests drives it, this might be a deal breaker if he is concerned about you speeding! Good luck, I love mine so far!

PS go online and print out car and driver type reviews. The Mini is safer than you might think and has a pretty good reputation. Have all your paperwork for your argument in hand to approach your father. But ultimately he is buying you the car and it is his call. If you don’t get one, don’t take it too hard. You are still getting a free car, right? I didn’t get my gotta have car my first time around either.

Q: Does a 2003 MINI Cooper take regular or premium gasoline?
I was wondering would a 2003 MINI Cooper Take Regular or premium gas and roughly what is the MPG’S on a 2003 MINI?

A: Premium gas.

If it is the regular Mini Cooper, it gets 32mpg city and 39mpg highway.

If it is the Mini Cooper S with more power, it gets 29mpg city and 36mpg highway.

Q: What does Mini Cooper Diagnostic Trouble Code 08342 mean?
The check engine light in my Mini Cooper S came on so I hooked a reader up to the engine and it came out with “Undocumented code 08342″. I was wondering if anybody knew what this code meant so I could fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance

A: An undocumented code means that the reader is taking a guess at the problem. Take the car to an auto repair shop for a real reading and a diagnoses.

Q: fix or leave a dent on mini cooper bumper?
bumped into pole and have a small dent in the front bumper. should i fix it or leave it? planning to sell the car in two years. it’s an 03 mini cooper. approximately how much to get it fix?

A: I would call your Mini dealership and ask for a quote. They will more than likely refer you to a body shop they send their Mini customers to for body work. All consultations are free.
Personally, I would leave the dent alone if you plan to sell the vehicle.

The price really depends on how bad the dent is and if it can be “pulled” or the bumper having to be totally removed from the body of the car, paint stripped, dent removed and then repainted again. I would not be surprised if you are quoted $800+ plus labor.

Q: is any way i can turn my 4door 64 chevy impala into a 2 door convertible?
i have this 64 chevy impala since long time ago and i really waneted a 2 door convertible. and i was thinking that maybe i can used this car to make it convertible!

A: it’s worth more orginal if you weld doors closed and chop it your never gonna get the money you put into it or see if you can trade for a 2dr

Q: How much would you pay for a fairly good condition 64 chevy impala?

A: anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 depending

no more than 7,000 unless it has less than 20,000 miles or something crazy like that

Q: do you think i should get a 64 chevy impala?
ok im planning on going to america i live in new zealand, to get a coouple of classic cars to bring back and im thinking of getting a 64 impala and ill paint it black with red interior( my dad and i are panelbeaters and we can paint cars) so what do you think???

A: yep! if u like it go for it.

Q: Can I use a 64 chevy impala as my main car?
I wanted this car since i was 12 years old and now im old enough to drive my parents say I cant have it because its unreliable.. That it will break down and that gas and insurance will be way to high.. Obviously the car willl be remade and look goodd
all my moneyy nd i got like 15 thousand for itt

A: You have to keep in mind that it is from 1964. A great car but very old. How many parts in the car are from the factory? How long before they go out? Can you find them and if you do what will it cost? Parts for these old cars can get very $$$$ and very hard to find. What engine? small block or big block? Either engine will take alot of gas to pull this sled down the road. I don’t think you would want to drive this car every day. I have a friend who drives a 74 nova SS with a 396 big block as a daily driver and he spends 35 $ a day just in gas to work and home. He has the money to do that, do you? I think you should get a reliable gas saving car and then buy this car to fix up and drive every once in a while. Listen to your parents they know from experience. You have good taste in cars my friend. Plus if you did have this classic would you take the chance in driving it everyday and waiting for some jack leg to run in to it? It will happen if it is on the road every day. People will even try to steal hard to find parts from it. I would not drive it everyday if I were you!

Q: does a 64 chevy impala have seat belts?
i just bought a 64 chevy impala and there’s no seat belt i don’t know if the car was Original built with no seat belts or he took them of.

A: I had a 64 Impala with no seat belts. If you really want belts, you could rig some in from a salvage car or possibly order some from a speculate catalog such as jc Whitney or year one or some such.

Q: What are the pros and cons of owning/maintaining a 64 Chevy Impala?
automatic, good condition overall, 350 engine, 127K

A: the pros are it’s a classic car and easy to work on and can take it to car cruises and have fun with it and the cons are you have to let them sit in the winter and can’t drive them unless you live where you have nice weather year round and the $4.00 a gal. gas prices.

Q: I am looking for an old chevy impala 64?
How much would that cost with hydraulics, spinners and a good paint job.

A: try cars.com. enter in the vehicle company, type of vehicle, how far away you are willing to go to get the car, and the year. you should be able to choose from many differnt 64 impalas. remember, cars.com.

Q: ok i have a 64′ chevy impala but it want go backwards for some reason?
ok i have a 64′ chevy impala but it want go backwards for some reason i have not got a perfessional to look at it yet plan to do so wat could be possible problems with my car and if yu could give me some prices and solutions P.S. it is a automatic transmission

A: 64….that would be a power glide tran,s..their nearly indestructible but the age is against it….probably your reverse band…check for local re builder,s in your area. ..should be fairly inexpensive…2 to 3 hundred to rebuild…plus installation. good luck!

Q: wats the cheapest lowrider chevy impala 64 i can get with hydraulics?

A: maybe $100
I saw one in the junk yard, rusted all to H ell.

Q: How much is a mint condition chevy impala 63-64?

A: So much depends on the options and how original it is. A convertible is worth a lot more then a four door sedan. One that had the big V-8 with all the options is worth more then a I-6 plan jane.
Those who are serious about classic cars have an appraiser on call to set the value of such cars, because it takes more then knowing what a car brings at auction to set the value. An appraiser knows why a car brings a set value at the auction.

Q: will a 1990 crown victoria gas tank fit a 64 chevy impala?

A: Sure just open the door and set it on the seat.

Q: how to weld a 4 link suspention for a 64 chevy impala?

A: I would look around at car shows to see how others have done it. Also, check with Summit racing. They may have a weld in kit to make a 4 link.

MIke

http://mikestrawbridge.com/jeep-cherokee-off-road.shtml

Q: looking for 64 chevy impala 2drhtp for body parts?
also need interior pieces as well, bucket seats and dash parts

A: I agree eBay is a great place to find classic car parts.

Another excellent place to find OEM classic car parts is Year One, they have a website, and sell just about every nut and bolt to restore your car back to the way it should be.

Excellent choice in cars by the way, the 64 Impala is a classy ride, original or a hot rod.

Q: How to install a fuel pump in a 64 IMPALA?
Chevy Impala either 64 or 65. want to know cost of a new part and where I could get it. and how its intalled

A: This is one of the easiest repairs you can do. A lot of parts stores have them (if not, they now where to get them) and it’s only a couple of bolts and hoses and a gasket.

Q: how much is a 1963 ned jarret #11 chevy impala 1/64 scale diecast worth?

A: I know he said he looked it up, but there’s no way to get a price without knowing what brand of car it is. Revelle, Hot Wheels, Racing Champions, Action. Without knowing this, pricing is impossible. My collection of over 800 Nascar diecast cars has many different brands. You can have the same car of two different brands and the worth can be different by one or two hundred dollars.

Q: found a sylvan viper 180 for sale and looking to buy it are they good boats? Has a 150hp Mercury outboard?
Its in really good Shape. Motor runs great has very low hours.
It is a 1998 it comes with an easy loader trailer 2 live wells fish/depth finder combo trolling moter also in great shape. Hes asking $10,000

A: Does it come with a trailer, fish finder. How much? What year is the boat and motor?

Q: Does anyone have a Remington Viper 522 clip for sale?
I have a viper 522, but have lost the clip. Does anyone know if they make a aftermarket clip to fit these 22’s?

thanks

A: found a couple on the net, I have read allot of negative things about that rifle and the clips, and jamming, You don’t want to put to much money into it, if you go to http://www.gunbroker.com, just search for viper 522, they had a couple, just all expensive. I am learning to always buy a few extra magazines when I purchase a gun. Good Luck

Q: How much money?
whats the lowest amount youve seen a viper sale for??

A: i saw a 02 for 22,000 with slight fender damage

Q: Last Viper’s and PT Cruiser’s being built…get em’ while you still can…?
Chrysler has stated the PT Cruiser production is over, but of course there are still going to be some new ones available until inventory is gone.

As the last few Vipers are built, and production ceases, an “inside” word is that it will resume in 2012. Don’t hold your breath, as the car never made a dime for Chrysler, since after the numbers were crunched, it cost significantly more to develop and market the car, than money was ever generated(hence what is known as a ‘negative return on investment’) by actual sales. Vipers were known to stay literally for years on car lots before being sold as 60-65% of MSRP.

RIP Cruiser and Viper…you’ll be missed.

A: The Viper isn’t going anywhere. It’s getting some mild design changes and significant performance upgrades and the 2012 models will be available mid year 2011.

As for the PT….Good Riddance. What a miserable car to work on.

What was your question again????

Q: I want to buy a prince triple threat viper tennis racket do you know who has one for sale?

A: If you’re in the UK, try pwp.com as they have one of the largest selection of racquets. They should be able to point you in the right direction if they don’t have them themselves.

Q: How can I sale out my anti venum for the snake bite?
this product is bassically a herbal medicine and is tested on cobra bite, carpet viper bite, crate snake bite and on some viper class snakes bites.I have tested it personaly, two times, on me when i was bitten by the carpet viper. This is a magical formula for almost every kind of snake bite, as menssioned by the old man who told me about it. if u have any kinds of question about this medicine, i will satisfy u.

A: sounds fishy.

Q: How much was Obama supposed to be kickedback for the Illinois Senate seat sale from the Governor? ?
Quite the Chicago vipers nest aye?

A: Nothing but his appreciation according to BLAGOJEVICH

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1208/What_the_transition_knew.html#comments

Q: anybody have a custom bmx bike for sale?
i am willing to pay 200$ and throw in a psp with extras, a paintball gun, a THINK complete skateboard, and my 06 diamondback viper,
email me for more details and we’ll work something out
email: vincebruh@yahoo.com

A: No I don’t. But then again this forum isn’t for buying and selling.

Q: Which viper gts should i get!?!?!?
Both Red, both 1997 viper GTS.
Viper A: $31,500 34,000 miles, private ONE owner seller, newer AC done, okay tires, older lady driven – retired couple. Selling to buy last model before 2 year viper production shutdown. Windshield replaced due to rock chips, chips do not look present on body panels.
Viper B: $32,500 20,600 miles, “Carfax” ONE owner (possibly 2), new tires. Not much else known – dealer has it for sale. Body on both cars looks good.

Personally I like the individual seller, theres a good chance the car was not drag raced. They told me they did max the speed out at around 184mph in Montana. The low mileage and new tires is very attractive on the dealer viper though….I don’t know the tire condition on the private sell viper. Any ideas which car to get?
FYI – I’m looking for logical arguments, not just a voted choice from readers. The final choice of course is mine, I can’t go look at both vipers (one is in Chicago, one in Denver CO, I’m in KS!) I think I have talked myself into the dealer viper, 14k less miles, new tires, looks cared for (pictures), 4hr less of a drive from Chicago, cheaper flight to pick it up as well. I just like to throw questions out to see if anyone brings up something I haven’t thought about yet. Thanks for the replies!

A: if your going to spend that much money on a car why let us decide for you, suppose we tell you to get the wrong one,and you don’t like it,its your money so that should be your choice,go look at both cars and decide for your self,i would if i was buying one, i sure wouldn’t let anyone decide it for me,good luck

Q: Why on earth did that viper Jenny assume that everyone is dishonest like her?
Does she think that everyone in foreign countries are willing to accept bribes?
How arrogant of her!

Good on the sales assistant and the racket stringer for not accepting the bribes.
I thought the sales assistant was really classy.

Thank You

A: She was determined to win and nothing was going to stop her so she resorted to cheating. Not a nice quality to have and she must have been really thick if she thought Sir Alan would have approved. She said on the after show she thought he would see it as enterprising!!!! Unfortunately people like Jenny assume everyone is the same as them.

Q: New 2008 Viper Coupe not listed yet ? 600 hp.?
Announced for sale in spring 2007. Details ??

A: For 2008, the Dodge Viper SRT will use an 8.4-liter aluminum V-10 engine that produces a full 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque. 0-60 times are under four seconds, 0-100-0 in under 12 seconds, and braking 60-0 comes in less than 100 feet.

Q: Last year for Corvette before bankruptcy?
Is this it? Last call for Corvette? Don’t see how a niche’ expensive, side sale of this division(if that even will happen) will make it on it’s own?

I don’t know the numbers for Vette’s, but I heard from a friend at Chrysler, they had to always give deep discounts to move Vipers that would stay on lot’s for years.

June 1 is looming…

A: The Corvette is in no way, shape or form in danger…PERIOD. The base model ‘vette is safe, the ZO6 is safe, the ZR1 is safe…they even came out with a Grand Sport trim package for this year.

AGAIN, TO QUELL THE RUMORS THAT HAVE BEEN FLOATING AROUND YAHOO ANSWERS LATELY, THE CORVETTE 100% SAFE.

Chrysler has to give deep discounts on the Viper because it’s an inferior car…why spend $80K on a car that gets smacked around by a well equipped base C6 or embarrassed by a ZO6. The only Viper that’s worth anything is the ACR Viper and that’s pretty much their all out race car and it BARELY(and I mean BARELY) beats the ZR1

The Corvette sold roughly 27K units last year compared to the 12xx Vipers.

Like I said, the Corvette is more than safe…regardless of what dipshit Obama and the other cronies in the government will have to say about it.

Q: 1968 camaro body…. how should i buy the engine?
1968 camaro body.. crate motor. buy turnkey? or small block? is it cheaper getting a small block or large block and the parts and i need to put it together or to just buy a turnkey? and if i get the large block what other parts will i need to get… please list EVERY part i would need?

A: Putting a car together is not “Plug and Play.” Many things need to be considered, starting with what type of engine do you want? Power? Daily Driver? Stock replacement? As far as Short/Long blocks and turn keys, You’d have to provide a link to what you’re looking at. Turn Key does not necessarily mean it has all accessories you need (Alternator, PS pump – if equipped, etc…)

It’s impossible to tell you every part you need without knowing what you’re missing. Do you have a transmission? Are you replacing a motor or did you just buy a rolling chassis?

Also, an engine cannot just be dropped into a car and expected to run well. It needs to be primed and run-in.

Best advice if you’re doing a stock replacement is to get a factory service manual for the camaro. You can get them on Ebay. They have parts lists and stock configurations for the particular model you have.

Good Luck

Q: How do I put rear sholder seat belts into a 1968 Camaro?? for booster seats.?

A: http://www.carseat.org/ This site will help you with your car seat info.Best of luck.http://www.aap.org/family/carseatguide.htm.

Q: what is the engine with the most horsepower that can be put in a 1968 camaro?

A: back in the late 60’s a chevrolet dealer called YENKO CHEVROLET became famous by installing 427/L88 corvette engine,s in camaro,s…I,m sure you’ve heard of them…anyway…that mean,s you can install a big block chevy in it…how about a 502 chevy crate engine from G.M. performance?…check into that…but prepare to open your wallet wide…good luck!

Q: was there ss camaro automatics in 1968?
I have a 1968 camaro convertible rs ss. I had a co-worker state that they didnt make a ss automatic.

YES!!!

Q: could the 1968 camaro z28 be ordered with the cowl induction hood?

A: no i don’t think so ,69 was the first year that was offered as an option,68 had the rally hood though, and the ss hood, but i have never seen one with the z-28 hood though, and i use to race against those cars, years ago, good luck.

Q: did a 1968 camaro have a z28 emblem in the grill?
or what kind of emblem did one have for a z28?

Q: Me and my dad are looking for a 1968 chevy camaro that has NOT been restored. Can anyone help?
we need one that has a resonable price and that has had litle to no work done on it. it is going to be a litle side project for us to work on until i get my licence so if anyone knows anyone in arizona that is selling please answer this question.

A: look on craigslist or carsoup or go to a gas station and pick up an autotrader or check the classifieds in the newspaper

Q: What is the gas milleage perfomance design safty and purches price of a 1968 camaro.?

A: In 1968 (the year I turned 16) Camaros came from mild to wild. From a 235 cu. in. Six to a 375 horse 396 cu. in. So mileage varies

Safety, collapsible steering wheel and seat belts is about it.

Price? From about $2100.00 to around $3500.00 ( My 1968 289 Dan Gurney Cougar with Air, cost $2800.00 new.

There were a few special order dealer Camaro (zenko) that were equipped with 427 cu. in.. not sure about their cost/

Q: how to replace seat belts in a 1968 camaro?

A: Google 68 Camaro parts.

There are many companies that specialize is Camaro parts. Year One is an example. You can buy brand new, every nut, bolt, screw, or any other part you want for a Camaro. Brand new all metal Camaro bodies are available.

Another source is Hemming Motor News, available the first of each month at your local book store. If it is not in Hemmings, it does not exist.

Q: How do I know if my 1968 Camaro is an SS or not?

A: ‘68 models are the worst year to try to decode. Without an original build sheet or protect-o-plate it is virtually impossible to determine if a ‘68 was an SS or not. The trim tag did not list any RPO codes for the SS option or engine codes. If by chance you can find the build sheet or protect-o-plate the SS engine codes were L34, L35, L48, L78, & L89. That’s really the only way to verify a ‘68 SS.

Q: How many 1968 Camaro RS SS Convertibles made?
I can only find about 3 real 1968 rs ss convertibles on the Internet for sale. Mine is Matador Red with black interior and white top. It was made white with blue interior and a white top. It came with a 350 in it, it now has a 327(I am going to change the intake to make look authentic). Car is near perfect, I payed $35,000. Ones I have seen have been 45-50gs in simular condidtion. What do you think?
the 350 v8 was a first year option in 1968 on the camaro
pace car in 67 and 69 there wasnt a 68 pace car.

A: No one is able to say how many Camaros were produced exactly like yours or even close to yours. To my knowledge it is impossible to accurately determine, for example, how many black ‘68 RS/Z28 Camaros were produced. It just gets worse to determine with the more options that are added. The problem is GM did not track production numbers on combinations of options. There were only 16,927 convertibles in ‘68, so the production numbers will be low on an RS/SS ‘vert but impossible to determine exactly.

Q: Can you put a rear end from a 1968 camaro in a 1971 el camino??

A: First are you putting a 10 Volt into a 12 Volt, or the other way around……..if it’s a 10 on 10 Volt, or a 12 on 12 Volt, then the answer is YES
If you are taking the entire housing you have to match up the spring saddles

Q: why wont my 1968 camaro shift into 3rd gear?
th350 transmission, car shifts fine under part throttle into all gears but under hard acceleration (full throttle) car refuses to shift into third (shifts 1-2 just fine) and will hold second gear causing car to surge and jolt, could this be a vaccume issue, or something worse ?

A: check out the vaccuum line that runs from the transmission to the carburetor. Same thing happened to my 65 mustang, and I found that this line had shaken loose.

Q: 1968 Chevy Camaro with no seatbelts, racing seatbelts?
I have a 68 camaro with no seatbelts, the car is orange, mint. I think it would be sweet to get racing seatbelts in it, however…. most of the ones i see are for a roll cage i believe? I dont have a rollcage, and it has normal seats, is my idea possible? and how? thanks in advance for all answers!!

A: Have you called Summit? They have techs that can help you. They were able to help me with my 66 mustang. I wanted the same thing. Racing belts for stock seats with no roll cage. Give them a call

Q: can i get a great deal on a new chevy suburban now that gm has all these problems … i mean like a crazy deal?
can i get a great deal on a new chevy suburban now that gm has all these problems … i mean like a crazy deal

A: go to dealer/find out

Q: chevy suburban new rear axle?
i saw a truck on craigslist that says it needs a new rear axle and i was wondering what exactly this means. he said the part is about $600. do i have to get it towed to get it fixed im assuming? how much is installation for this part roughly? its a 1993 chevy suburban 1500 4×4
well he said a new rear end so im assuming that its the whole axle. the only reason im considering it is becuase im getting the truck for a lot less because of it. can the truck still start without it so i can see if it runs?

A: never buy any car or truck if you need to work on it alot smarter and since youre asking about axle you dont know hgow to replace it so better to look more axle not hard to repalce and yes cant drive it with out one and cal a aprts store axle dont cost that much unless we talking whole unit and someone replcaing like at a shop replacing whole unit really not much harder to do at home

Q: what do you think about a brand new chevy suburban truck?

A: I would go ask the dealer to find me a GMC VERSION OF THE SUBURBAN, specifically the SLE, ask the salesman, because this is the one that has the big comfortable seats and all the bells and whistles, its similar to the overpriced cadillac version, without the price tag, if you like bare bones suburban go with a chevy, if you are looking for tons of room, good strong drive train get a 3/4 ton with the 5.7 or the 5.3 motor, if you dont need a lot of extra space, they have a yukon, or a tahoe, which is exactly like the suburban, only 18 inches shorter. (I have had both, and even though the tahoe is lighter, I prefer the longer wheel based suburban for the extra room, and the length makes for better towing and more comfortable ride. flex fuel suburbans are available, but on a long trip, you wont save any money, the flex fuel option makes for cheaper fuel, but the performance is less, and the fuel mileage is less, and it equals out to about the same price, best of luck, best time to make a deal is the last few days of the month

Q: how do you install a new stereo in a 2002 chevy suburban?
Okay i know this is one of those questions that no one really wants to answer but id really appreciate the help. I have a new stereo ready to install all the necessary parts and kits. But the reason im asking is because im fresh out of money and would really like some help with installing this myself. i no how to take the old stereo out but putting the new one in with all the wires is were im lost. Any help would be great thanks.

A: You said you have a kit and all the nesscessary parts so follow the directions on the kit, aftermarket radio to factory wire harness and your aftermarket radio.

Q: im in need of a new window for my 1994 Chevy Suburban. it is the liftgate type and i dont want to get robbed.?
the window that was there was tinted, heated and had the wiper with washer. i was quoted at around 800 for a new on but i cant afford that. i live on Ft. Stewart, GA. im a junior soldier with a family and need to get this fixed asap for as little as possible.

A: Go to an auto wrecking yard and get a used one. As you remove it you will learn how to install on your Suburban

Q: Debating on a new or used chevy suburban?
Hi,everyone! As I’m awaiting a tax return(which, i will use as a down payment towards a car) , I am debating if I should get a new or used chevy suburban. I have bad credit, and with the way the auto industry is doing..I’m not sure of what’s the better option. I will be putting down a total of $4800 on the down payment, and I make an average of 1800-2000/month. My first car experience was horrible(I got a lemon), and I have three kids, and I can’t afford to be ripped off again. I really don’t need the added expense that a new car requires, but I’m afraid that if I don’t buy new(or relatively new) that I might be labeled a “sucker” again. So, what should I do? And, please, no one try to persuade me to buy anything else, unless it’s the same size as a suburban..I want a huge suv, no exceptions. Thanks for all your input!
Mama JK
I’m sorry-to clarify, my monthly income is 1800-2000, and I was hoping to put somewhere between 300-500/month towards the vehicle.

A: The Suburban is the best SUV in that size you’re going to get.

A compromise would be to get a low-mileage used one that still had plenty of warranty left, like maybe a couple years old with 15-20k miles.

But the thing is with the auto industry in such a slump, you can often find new ones for just as good a price. I would shop hard for a new one for a while and make SURE you get the Sunday paper and browse all the car ads – that’s where you’ll find the deals. Sales are much better at furnishing deals than any amount of negotiating will ever furnish for you.

Also, you can always purchase an extended warranty on nearly any used vehicle that’s not over 10 or so years old.

If you do go with an extended warranty and it’s not backed by the dealer, make sure you research the warranty company and get an idea of their reputation.

You can also take any potential vehicle to a mechanic of YOUR choosing for inspection. If the dealer won’t let you do that, run like the wind.

Take your time and PAY ATTENTION to your instincts.

Q: How do I program the new factory door remote for my 1993 Chevy Suburban?

A: find the diagnostic connector under dash. starting at the top row, count to the 8th terminal. ground the terminal, locks will all cycle, then hold both lock and unlock buttons at the same time on the new remote, the locks will cycle, then disconnect the ground wire. now try the remote.

Q: whats a fair price for a 1992 chevy suburban that is in need of a few new parts?
My mom want’s to sell it to me for $3000, and I want to buy it. But that seems like a steep price. On Tuesday the governor housing fell of and it oozed transmission fluid down the highway. And given it’s age, more is going to break and need repair soon.

A: http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/used/1992/chevrolet/suburban/index.html

I’d say thats a steep price also. I’d say no more than $1500 given its condition but plug in what you know about it and see what edmunds tells you.

HTH

Q: Heated far back right window for 1994 Chevy Suburban, need a new one, where do I buy one?
Last night, some fag shot through the heated window on the right door on the very back of my 1994 Chevy Suburban 1500 with a BB Gun.. I was wondering where I can buy a new one to replace the one that now looks like a big shiny spiderweb.

Please tell me where I can buy a new window for my Suburban Please…

I live in the Portales, NM area and if the parts are online it doesn’t really matter so… yeah…

We dont have a dump or anything around here anymore I don’t think, so online orders would be nice =]…

Thanks!

A: www.1stchevyparts.com is an Chevy dealor that sells parts online, I dont knoow if they would ship a window, though. Its probably a dealor part. Most glass shops would probably have this, or at least could get one. Windows are best left to the experts.

Q: 1987 chevy suburban not charging, new battery and alternator, not draining just not charging.?
Ive got a question, were there any suburban engines externally regulated in the 1980s, bc there is a plug coming out right near the alternator plug that isnt attach to anything, Im thinking if this engine is from another older sub. it may be a plug for the regulator and thats the reason why its not charging fully. I dont know much about electrical but couldnt hurt to ask right.

A: look on the alternator……………near the plug….it should be stamped…..F….for field…………A …for armature………..the field need,s a pulse charge for the alternator to charge…….usually supplied through a resistor/wire……..you can cross the field to the armature terminal,s…..this will make it a one wire alternator………..it will produce……….but it,s not the right way to do this…………..see the charging diagram in a chilton/hayne,s/motor,s….manual……it will illustrate the intended wiring from the factory.

Q: 1987 Chevy suburban not charging,NEW alternator and battery. Not Draining, just isnt charging.?
Hey so the problem isnt fixed and im short on money. The harness must have a fault in it running to the plug in the back of the alternator. I dont know for sure. Does anyone know how much it would be to have the whole truck rewired?(couldnt hurt being it is 20 years old). But if someone thinks they know of another reason it may not be charging would be helpful. thanks.

A: Yes it is most likely a wire fault. Just run a new 14 guage wire from the back of the alt+ directly to the bat+. Move the stock wirring far away. Insure the new wire is well plumbed and of good quality. Make multiple measurements at the battery for good battery upkeep at many levels of use. The ultimate taxing is when the air and lights are at full on while the engine is idling. Power windows and seats ,during this onslot, may give rise to higher idling wants.

Q: Which Chevrolet dealership in Tampa, Florida is selling a new 2007 Suburban for the lowest price?
looking to buy a brand new 2007 chevy suburban for the lowest price in tampa

A: In Florida and California GM is offering this great deal of a credit! Make sure you get it. It will limit your gasoline cost to $1.99/gallon. They (GM) will pay the difference for the year.

Q: Does a 1989 Chevy Suburban in “Factory New” condition ever have a classic potential.?
I have a 1989 Chevy Suburban 2500 Silverado with a 7.4 lit. 454 engine. It’s in great cond. now and it wouldn’t be that hard to unlock it’s full potential (if it has any.) I think that the Suburban I have is the single most unique model ever ’cause it was the first year they put a hard drive (computer) in the Suburbans and the last year they put the “rat” engines in them, meaning the 454 and the 350. Also it has the the best body design of the R/V series which Chevy used for over a decade. All these VERY relevant things are not combined in any other year. So there!

A: Yes in another 10 years V8 will be hard to come by and people would love the 454 and to show it off when everyone has a 4banger to save on fuel cost and riding in a small box with seems like no shocks.

Q: 79 Chevy suburban I’m going to buy a new tail gate from junk yard how do I hook a battery up to it to see?
if the window motor works there a orange blue and brown wire

A: Remember, the body of the vehicle is negative. So, any wire from the motr or switch will be positive. One wire will be bor window up, the other for window down.
Simply hook up one wire at a time to the battery, then connect the negative terminal to the tailgate, (preferrably to a place where bare metal is accessible). The window motor will run and move the window regulator up/down the track.
Best to remove the window for this test, unless you are just going to move it very little(just enough to check the workings of the motor) If you run the window up enough and it is not secured in the frame and tailgate, it could shatter with it’s own weight. Happened to me while working on a ‘79 Bronco.
Expensive lesson to learn.

Q: looking to find a brand new engine for my 1997 chevy suburban. 5.7 liter vortex?
a nice rebuilt would be fine also

A: Try a local auto parts store. A lot of those provide remanufactured engines. Vortec, not vortex.

Q: Is there any Ford Mustangs under $10,000 that are used?
I was looking for a used Ford Mustang, preferably a GT convertible, 2005 or greater, in gray. My mom says that if I attend the community college next year (after i graduate high school), then she will get me a mustang to replace my crappy ‘02 ford explorer. I have wanted a stang since I was like 5, so yeah…

A: You can find plenty of them in the 99-04 body style. On autotrader.com right now, there are 8 2005-2009 Ford Mustang GT’s in the entire country for under $10,000. They are all totalled cars or have salvage titles. Sorry.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/searchresults.jsp?num_records=25&search_lang=en&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&search_type=both&distance=0&address=75028&marketZipError=false&style_flag=1&make=FORD&model=MUST&make2=&start_year=2005&end_year=2008&min_price=&max_price=10000&seller_type=b&transmission=&engine=8+Cylinder&drive=&doors=&fuel=&max_mileage=&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&sort_type=priceDESC&body_code=0&certified=&advanced=y&highlightFirstMakeModel=&showZipError=n&default_sort=priceDESC&awsp=false&systime=&sownerid=553450&rdm=1245552074412

Q: When To Buy Used 2010 Mustangs?
Hi, i am going to buy a used Mustang. I can’t get a new one, so dont suggest that. Preferably, i would like a 2010 mustang gt. When might people start to sell their 2010 mustangs as used cars?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.enacre.net

Q: How Many Miles Is Too Many For A Used Mustang ?
I am looking to buy a 1999 – 2005 Ford Mustang. I am looking at the used Mustangs & most of them have about 100K miles on it . Is that good or Bad ?

A: For normal wear and tear, 12,000 miles per year on average. The ones you are looking at are between 2 and 8 years old. This is a little high. As long as the asking price is not too high, it would be OK. But I would not pay top dollar for a car this new with over 100,000 miles on it.

Q: How did the P-38 mustangs used in WW2 ,?
Manage to fire anti aircraft guns through the propellers without chopping them off? Was this done electronically or mechanically? Any info welcome, Thanks in advance.
Sorry folks but I confess ignorance about WW2 fighter planes but I don, intend to stay that way!

A: The P-38 was the Lightning, not the Mustang, which was the P-51. The former was a twin-boom design, two engines, and the guns were mounted in the central pylon, not close to the props but offering great firepower without having to angle the machine guns. The P-51’s guns were wing-mounted, also avoiding the problem. Other fighter planes like the early variants of the P-40 did have single engines and machine guns mounted on the fuselage, and they used a mechanical gun synchronizer or interrupter gear originally developed in World War I.

Q: Used 99-04 Mustangs?
I wanna buy a used 99-04 Mustang, but I don’t know what to look for to see if it’s going to be a good (dependable) car. Does anybody have any tips to buying used Mustangs?

A: Do NOT buy from a private owner, you really need to be knowledgable about that model car to weed out the truth from fiction with a private seller..

Buy from a reputable Ford dealer or from a place like CarMax — some place you know that has gone through a thorough check of the car and will give you a warrantee.

Do not buy the first car, go to at least 3 places to have them show you the mustangs and have them go through their sales pitch. Each will be different but all will provide you with information to ask when you start to get serious.

Another thing you should do is google “used car buying tips” and read a few websites.

Q: where to find used mustangs?
i really really really want a mustang as a car. my parents don’t want to spend a lot on a car. i have expensive taste and like the super new ones and the 06 models. i also want a convertible. any ideas besides cars.com and yahoo auto were i can find a used one? oh and somewhere in arizona would be nice

A: base mustangs are cheap…you can look at autotrader.com they are not expensive cars they ar under 30k new that is not expensive.!!! screw the mustang ppl usally look like d-bags in them get a infiniti g35 it is a much nicer car

Q: After buying a used 94 mustang, what things should i check?
I just bought a used mustang with 170,000 miles on it (65,000) on a rebuilt engine. What things should i check on it before i drive it?

A: You should have checked the car before you bought it but since it seems you already own it, here is a list of things to look for.

1. Check the condition of all the fluid levels. These fluids include:
A: Coolant- Check when engine is cool. It should be about 1″from the top. The radiator cap should also be in good condition because it has to seal well.
B: Oil- It should be checked for both quality and quantity.
C: Brake Fluid- Don’t let dirt in the system and it should be filled to the full mark.
D: Power Steering- Same as Brake Fluid.
E: Window Cleaner
F: Transmission Fluid- If it is auto then check it with a dipstick and look for traces of dirt and metal (gray colored fluid) If it it a Manual transmission then it used ATF as well and there is a fill and drain [lug on the side of the transmission. There is no dipstick.

The next thing to check is the serpentine belt. Check it for glossy or cracked ribs. If the belt is worn or cracked, replace it.

Then check the brake pads and rotors for wear. They normally squeal when the metal indicator is letting you know it’s really thin.

Check the tires for worn tread and raised portions (eggs) on the sidewall.

Check the condition of the vacuum hoses. The smallest crack or hole can hurt the performance of your car.

Check the spark plugs for excessive wear as well as the distributor cap and wires.

Check for cracked or broken wires in the engine compartment.

Check for water leaks around the heads, radiator and water pump.

Check for exhaust leaks. Also check for smoky exhaust. Black is oil, Grey/blue is excess fuel and white is water.

Inspect the suspension. If the ride is bouncy and uncomfortable, have it checked.

Replace the fuel filter and check the air filter.

Take the car for a drive. At 15-20 mph let the steering wheel go on a straight and flat road. If the car veers to a certain side then have the alignment checked. Then go to a parking lot. turn full left and right in a circle. This will tell you if you have a bad cv joint if it clicks. Play in the steering wheel is a sign of a worn rag joint or steering shaft.

If you have the tools and knowledge, then you can use a timing light to check the ignition timing. Ford sets it at 10 degrees from the factory.
You can use a compression tester with the engine off but warm and throttle open. This will tell you how well the cylinders are sealing.
You can also use a cooling system tester to tell if the head gaskets are blown or if there is a crack in either the block or heads, radiator or anywhere else in the system.

Q: How long does it take to sell a used car?
I have a 1999 blue mustang, in pretty good condition.it’s a pretty color blue, like a bright blue. about 111,100 miles on it. do used mustangs usually sell pretty fast?
i live in florida and will be selling it in about 2 months

A: About as long as it takes to find someone who wants the car and has the money.

Q: things to check before buying a used mustang tranny?
hi…i want to buy a used mustang transmission. Can you let me know what r the things i should check for to make sure i get a good tranny? if the seller says that the tranny has only 20k miles on it, how would i be able to check that? please help me
its an automatic…would it make any difference?

A: Manual or automatic? You will just have to take his word on the mileage.——–If its been taking out of the car,the only thing you can do is look for signs of leakage, the condition of the fluid and take the pan off and look for ground metal or clutch material or any thing else. There is no way to know for sure.

Q: where in hawaii i can get used mustang parts?
i have a 2001 mustang convertibllefte and i have the side scoops (cowl) missing. where can i get a used one or cheap one? thanks.

A: Check craigslist my braddah, if not check da news papah.

Q: what to look for when buying a used mustang gt?
Im thinking about buying a mustang really soon. we’ve called the insurance companies and got the price down really low. i got a summer job and saved up 8 grand. my dad plans on paying a little also. But I think my budget is going to be 12,000. But 12 is the highest and last resort. I’ve seen mustang Gt’s under 10 for around 48,000 miles to 98,000. im keeping a close eye on 10 mustangs right now on autotrader. but If i was to get one with 98,000 on it would that last me. i hear its how the owner took care of it not how many miles it has. Is this true? or should i just wait and find a good one with lower miles and just pay around 10 grand or a little higher. i want the car to last me a while. i dont mind doing some work on it if it needs some but not major problems. im looking at 1999-2002 mustang Gt’s. What should i look for when buying one. what are things i should look out for?

A: First off, buy the lowest mileage you can. Figure about 12000 less miles is another year of use with the vehicle. Don’t listen to these people here telling you to buy something else, buy the kind of car you like. GTs usually see a little harder use and abuse than their 6 cylinder companions. Check under the car, make sure there are no signs of rust, and make sure nothing under the car looks damaged. Check the gaps around the doors and hood when they are closed, make sure they are all pretty uniform. A twisted unibody, which could result from very hard driving or racing, will show a bit here. Make sure the car has had no major accidents. Get a carfax if you can on the vehicle, it’ll give you some history and anything of major concern. Take it for a test drive, on various road surfaces, smooth and rough, make sure the handling is okay, it doesn’t pull to one side or other, does not make any unusual sounds. The Mustang GT with the 4.6 is a very good car, one that will make you very happy. Try not to buy a car that needs work, a car needing a bit of work could mean that it was neglected and not cared for properly. There are lots of GTs out there, do not settle for the first one you see. Wait for the color and options that you want. Good luck in your search for a GT.

Q: What are cool cars under 18,000 that is durable used?
Im looking for a cool car but for cheap. I was checking out used mustangs but i heard they dont last a long time.

Q: where can i find used mustangs in nj for 5,000?

A: www.autotrader.com

Go on this website and enter the zip code.

Q: Does anybody know where to find a used Mustang GT (any year before 1998) that i can buy?
I want a mustang gt when im older, but i cant afford a new year or not used. So i need to know where to find older models.

A: best place for older model cars is going to be the local paper, the car trader magazines, and of course, EBay Autos. I would be very careful about buying a car sight unseen- take someone along with you who knows cars, and knows what to look for, because cars over 10 years old, and especially high performance cars like the Mustang GT can look great on the outside, but hide a great deal of mechanical misdeeds on the inside. Look before you leap.

Q: How much does an used mustang shelby 1966 cost?
I need the price please! AN USED ONE!

A: All the 1966 Shelby’s are used. Just how used do you want it?

A nice used driver will list around $40,000 to $60,000. Then they go up from there. Up to $200,000.

With some hard searching you may be able to get a basket case for $10K with a whole bunch of missing EXPENSIVE pieces.

These are NOT cheap cars and to think you can find one is optimistic — very optimistic.

Good luck on your search.
